Topics to be covered throughout the programme include:

Developing your CV: deciding on relevant information, naming skills and details of education and work history, defining appropriate language and format.
Achieving success in the job interview: dress code and grooming, manners, how to answer and ask questions, verbal and non-verbal communication, and how to provide references.

Fundamentals of communication: appropriate language and format for different types of effective written communication; appropriate verbal and non-verbal language.

Self-assessment: identifying professional and personal strengths and weaknesses; understanding how you can contribute your skill set and what you can do to improve your areas of opportunity.

Teamwork: identifying objectives, delegation of responsibilities, effective communication and collaboration, conflict resolution, team support and recognition.

Personal leadership skills: how to communicate effectively, inspire creativity, motivate others and give constructive feedback.

This programme consists of 111 total course hours, 95 of which are with a teacher in guided learning. Classes are 3 days a week for 2 hours each day. The modality will be online, except for final assessments. Assessment will be based on assignments and simulations in each of the subjects.

Students are required to achieve a passing grade in all areas.

Be over 15 years of age.

Level of English: B1+ (demonstrable).

This course focuses on the areas of the tourism sector most in demand by companies, such as: languages, tourist destinations, knowledge of accommodation and travel service management, human resources in the hotel industry, knowledge of the business environment, sales, marketing and service quality.

You will acquire fundamental skills and knowledge to obtain a job in the tourism industry, gaining also experience and knowledge in personal skills such as: interpersonal communication with guests, problem solving in hotels, travel planning and scheduling, teamwork, marketing in tourism and its importance, among others.

This programme uniquely prepares you to work in the travel and tourism industry in positions such as:

Topics to be covered throughout the programme include:

Module 1:

Research into types of travel and tourism, customers and their needs: types of tourism, types of travel, customer service and their needs.
Contribution of tourism and travel to the destination economy: global recognition of the tourism destination, employability in the travel and tourism sector, statistical visitor controls.
Research into tourism and travel organisations: tourism industry involvement and initiatives, key sectors of the tourism industry, interrelationships and interdependencies within the tourism industry, technology in tourism.
Factors affecting the tourism industry: factors affecting tourism organisations, response of tourism organisations to external factors.

Module 2:

The importance of customer service in the success of the organisation: customer service in tourism, meeting customer expectations and satisfaction, the impact of customer service on the organisation, handling satisfaction surveys, factors that influence the customer’s decision and the importance of meeting expectations in the tourism sector.
Application of customer service in various scenarios in the tourism sector: customer service skills, effective handling of complaints and suggestions, implementation of customer service in two scenarios:
face-to-face
via telephone
Self-assessment of customer service effectiveness as an added value in a tourism organisation.
Creation of a plan to monitor and improve customer service to achieve organisational objectives.

This programme consists of 180 total course hours. Classes are 4 days a week for 2 hours each day. The modality will be online, except for final assessments. Assessment will be based on assignments and simulations in each of the subjects, and students are required to obtain a passing grade in all areas.
